The Hafursa Haru washing station is located outside the town of Yirgacheffe, close to the Oromia zone boundary. The area has a population of just over 195,000, of which only 8% are urban dwellers. The washing station houses 12 standardised fermentation tanks and over 160 drying beds. This allows for fast turnaround whilst maintaining traceability of the lots, which is an emerging aspect of processing in Ethiopia as trade opens up.
